2014 Ford Escape running lights blink intermittent at night - just started this
I have a 2014 Ford Escape loaded. We have a security camera in our garage and intermittently at around 11 pm and 4 am, my running lights flash. It does not happen every night and sometimes it just does it at one timeframe (last night it was just 11pm). Some nights it doesn't happen. I have seen some threads about the door ajar sensors. Mine does not show any door ajar alarms on it but I do have trouble with my tailgate not always wanting to open by the button on the dash. I have to use the one under the handle and the sensor for your foot I think gets road grime on it and doesn't work half the time. I tried to get into the dealership and they can't see me for over a week. Any ideas or people having this issue? I do leave the lights on auto, like every single other vehicle I have owned that had that feature. I do have a cell phone charger plugged in currently but I have always left it plugged in so why doesn't it do it every single night if that was the issue...same with the auto lights.

It is a ghost!
You need to get it into the dealership and leave it there until they can duplicate the problem. If you can't leave it there then you may have to wait until the problem becomes more frequent and easy to duplicate.

Agreed with you ..!!

Very true, could be a kid or someone in the house playing with the keys.

We realize it should not be doing this, however, if the picture you are capturing is related to the keyless entry system , try placing the key(s) further away from the vehicle and see if it stops. If it happens at approx the same times the nights that it does happen, try to see if there is some routine thing that might be triggering the system to wake up. Electronic flukes can be challenging to find and sometimes can't be found without special equip.
There are times when disconnecting the battery negative cable from the battery and holding it onto the positive cable end for a few minutes to discharge capacitors in the electronics of the systems sometimes gets rid of the gremlins.
