351w with almost no power HELP!!!!!!
Hi yall I have a 351windsor and i got it going about a month ago and it was running pretty good (i dont think i ever got the timing write) but after a while it lost almost all power and now if you want to try to go some where you have to ease on the gas and if your lucky it will go. Here is the wered part if you have it in park it runs pretty good(not perfect though) does any one know what my problem might be.

The last time I had that kind of problem, it turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter , Now I am not sure if you have two of them because of the size of your motor or if it is dual exaust, but even one clogged converter would cause problems.
There are many reasons to include a fuel pump going bad that would also cause those symptoms. It does sound like your vehicle is struggling to get fuel, or air or is having trouble exausting.
Hopefully more knowledge is coming your way.

What is the engine in, and is this a manual or automatic? First, if your not sure about the timing. Make sure you have the number 1 spark plug out,and turn the crankshaft clockwise until you hear air come from the right front cylinder. Stick a screw driver in the hole to see if it is at top dead center.Your harmonic balancer should show timing marks,0-2-4-6-8-10 btc these are the marks you need to see to aline the pointer with. Once this is done, remove the distributor cap to see if your inline with the #1 spark plug wire. Also ,chech the trans fluid. email me back.{ make sure the timing is for this car or truck, some are set at 6 or 10.

Same problem
I have had some of these problems in 318's and it turned out to be the timing chain. it had jumped time, and broken several teeth.. replace chain/belts. once it happens once it seems to continue to occur until engine is rebuilt, reciprocating parts become misaligned..
