I have a 91 F-250 with a 460 engine. The engine was rebuilt and I have only put maybe 3000 miles on it. Oil pressure is showing low. When I had the engine installed I had a new pressure sending unit installed and oil pressure was great. The dash gauge seemed to stick one day and since then, sometimes it will show very good pressure and other times very low.
Has there been problems with the dash gauges? The engine doesn't rattle and runs great and I just can't believe there's a bearing or pump problem. The sending unit is so hard to get to I don't want to hook a pressure gauge up unless I have to. I also wondered about the wire which just snaps on to the terminal. Is there a simple fix for this low pressure reading? Is it a common problem with an easy fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob
