Default Escape 2010 rust problem

I got a $609.00 estimate to replace the "driver seat track power." Only one of the bolts is rusted and there is no mold on the floor. Also showed them a rusted bolt on the back door. I was told here in Washington this isn't covered under the warranty because Alaska is hard on vehicles. The Escape came with a rusted bolt on the windshield wiper blade and that was replaced. I did a search here on "rust" and it looks like Ford doesn't like to repair it and stand behind their product. Any suggestions on how to proceed to challenge their decision? Thank you.

Warranty rust problems are accessed on a case to case basis and the dealer you purchased it from may do more for you.

I would think cars in alaska would show less rust as they probably don't salt the roads there...to cold for salt to work.

If you have moved to the rust belt you should start rust proofing you car if you plan to keep it long term.

Thank you, Primem. I did contact my AK dealer and sent him good pictures. He asked if the guy took pictures and sent them in, as warranty work has to be documented. No he did not take pictures and he said this is an "environmental issue", not covered by warranty. I will talk to him again but will probably have to find another dealer to work with. And I will look into rust proofing, thank you.
