Ford Taurus 2001 coolant leak
I just bought a used 2001 Ford Taurus in very good conditions (low mileage), but I found coolant leaks (clear, slow dripping) on the site near or underneath the battery. Is it could be a big problem? I have two Ford vehicles at the moment.

The only pink/red liquid I can think of is either auto trans fluid or something possibly leaking from the A/C system. Maybe someone else on this forum will offer a better answer. Some coolant treatment or stop leak is possible also. They usually appear brownish, but I guess depending on the surface color it lands on could influence the color.

If you are sure it is pinkish color, it might be coming from the power steering system. But that is closer to the back of the engine compartment. As hanky stated it could be transmission fluid leaking from the hoses going to the radiator. Look at the coolant and see what color it is. Maybe someone had some odd color coolant and topped it off before selling it. Place a white piece of paper under it and let it drip on it and then take a picture and post it. That would give us a better idea of what it might be.
