Post Help

I own a 1987 Eddie Bauer full size bronco 302 carb with a c6 tyranny my questions 1-it won"t start i"ve changed out everything except the neutral safety switch,my question is how do you change a 6 wire neutral safety switch to a 4 wire neutral safety switch seeing they no longer make a 6 wire i am to wits end so any help i will be grateful, for some reason the company that sells the 4 wire doesn"t have a diagram to show what wires go where thanks

My first thoughts are this switch controls the back up lights, the position of park/ neutral for starting and run to supply the ign system.
When you say it won't start,,,,
Does the starter crank over the engine , but it will not fire up/ start running?
When you turn the key to the start position nothing happens?
Does anything show signs of life when you turn the key on?
"Changed out everything" ,exactly what does that mean/include ?
This can get complicated because we don't know what you replaced and we don't know if what you installed was good. Just because it was new is no guarantee it is good. You could have replaced a good part with a "new" defective part.
We need a little history as to what the original problem was.
Were you able to narrow it down to spark or fuel or something else?
The more info you can provide the better, and more folks will be able to help. Thanks

I"ve replaced the starter solenoid, the starter the ignition switch the ignition switch part that is under the steering wheel it would start when you jumped the starter solenoid, the only part i didn"t replace was the neutral safety switch but the problem there is it has 6 wires an they no longer sell a 6 wire safety switch they have a 4 wire but if i replace my switch which looks in bad shape i need to know what wires i could match them up with remember 6 wires downgraded to 4 wires so is there something deleted or do i splice that other 2 with one of the 4 an which ones do i do it too there is no diagram that i can find to do so

The only thing I would suggest would be to use a voltmeter or test light and make a diagram of the switch plug and then see which wire (s) are activated when ign is turned on, trans is placed in reverse, ign turned to start position and after that you may be able to determine when the remaining wires are live. I believe one of those wires is involved with the 4WD system. The main concern is to determine which wire goes to the starter solenoid from the plug. Between knowing which wire is hot in the start position and which goes to the starter solenoid through the neutral drive switch at least you should be able to get the vehicle started in park or neutral only.
Once that is done you can go from there. Sorry can't be more help.
