Default Hey Everyone!

Hello everyone I found this forum while I was snooping round the net and thought I would check it out and it seems to be a pretty good site. There doesn't seem to be much of the drama/bs arguments that plague forums so I joined up.

Not much to me really, I've been into cars since I was old enough to grab hotwheels cars off the shelves at walmart. Got my first car at 16 when I graduated from highschool, a 1990 7-UP Edition LX 5.0 Mustang. A few months ago I got my second car a 1962 Ford Falcon with a 302 and a C4.
Aside from cars I like guns and gaming and my other hobby is sittin on ***.

Hope to talk to you all and hopefully avoid any major arguments.

Thumbs up

Welcome to FordForum 7UPMustang..

Hope you were only grab'n the Ford Hotwheels

My sisters old boyfriend had a 62 Falcon. Had a 427 in it with huge slicks. It was all engine, and the battery was nested in the truck. First car I ever did a 'wheels up' in. Come to think about it, the ONLY one! Every time someone mentions a Falcon, it always takes me back to that car and experience for a kid of 15...

I had a 62 Falcon, sold it in 2003 for $5,200 with 300,000 miles. What a good car.

Default Ford Falcon engine swap

Hello, I'm new here too.

I just bought a 1962 Ford Falcon with a Ford 170 L6. The car is set up for a manual and needs a ton of work.

Don't tell the guys up top but I am only 17 and was hoping to get some advice.

I want to upgrade to a V8 (a 221, 260 or 289). I know that everything 260 and bigger takes a 5 or 6 bolt bell housing but I cannot find any info on what transmission to look for or even a transmission for that matter. Do you have any input? The car is 3 on the tree.

I have my eyes on a 221 and a 289 on craigslist. What models of transmissions should I look for?

This is my first project car.

Thank you.
