You will need a tool to release the spring locks on the filter. The tool slides inside the fuel line and releases the spring so the filter can be removed. Here is the best picture I have as to its location.

Default How do I view that picture you refer to in your reply?

So, Way2old, how do I view that picture that you have listed in your reponse in this thread (location of fuel filter in 2005 Ford 500)? It's just text in your reply, not a link. Can't do anything with it. Thanks.

Thanks Way2Old. I sincerely appreciate you responding, despite the age of this thread! Unfortunately, the picture was so small that I could not make heads or tails of it. Zooming in just made it extremely fuzzy, and impossible to see. I crawled under the car, and absolutely cannot find the darn thing. I have scoured the internet for a diagram, and cannot find anything. The closest that I have come to an answer is that it's under the rear passenger seat. I can't find it. Oh well. THANKS, anyway for the effort! It's refreshing that you took the time to do that!

Thanks!

Wow! Thanks. MUCH bigger and clearer! I can easily see where it's supposed to be now. Much Thanks! All auto parts stores near me say that they do not have a Haynes or Chiltons' manual for the Ford Five Hundred yet. Mine is a 2007. You'd think that both companies would have published one by now. Frustrating.

Go to AutoZone Auto Parts Stores | Motor Oil, Exhaust Systems, Suspension Parts, Car Starters, Car Stereo, Radiator Hoses, Headlights, Car Accessories, and More - AutoZone.com and create a free account. The information there is like Alldata DIY. it is free and has a lot of information. The 2007 is real close to the 2005. Good luck.
