hey guys and gals. I just purchased a 1988 Tbird. Its a 5.0 302 V8. It hauls ****. It has a digital dash which is awesome and is fully loaded including auto climate control. I got it really really cheap. they were asking 1700 for her, but when we went to start her, she wouldnt crank. Not even click. The battery was good and everything was connected. She said that her mechanic said that the neutral safety switch needed to be replaced. I asked her what the lowest she would take for the car. she said 1500, and i pointed out EVERYTHING that was mechanically wrong. (nothing, but i didnt tell her that). she then said 1000. i said 700. she said 800. i said 600. she said 700. I then pulled out 400 and that sealed the deal. So to get her home, i bypassed the switch. no go. I then replaced everything ignition/starter circuit. No go. Then i replaced the starter, and bam, she fired up and ran like a dream. The 5.0 engine is strong. This is the only automatic car that i have ever owned that does one hell of a friggen burnout, which doesnt surprise me, because i had a 1964 Thunderbird that did the same, only she had a 390. Sadly she is gone. (stolen/stripped), and the insurance company didnt do a thing eventhough i had FULL coverage. I also have a 1973 Lincoln Continental fully restored, and:
