Is the Zetec engine anything like the Honda Vtec? And if not, whats so special about it other than DOHC and the like?

 

Hi there, the Zetec engine fited to the majority of cars like Focus' etc is nothing like the Vetc. Vetec engines hqve verable valve timing (im not 100% sure how it works tbh but think its on vaccum). The normal DOHC fitted to Hondas etc work on the same princible as the Zetec just the VETC is the performance version.
