Default FIPK

I don't know how many of you have considered a K&N FIPK system but I had one installed ( I don't have a garage & it's cold here in Chillicothe, Mo) 2 days ago. My '04 CV Sport has 35660 on the clock & runs better than most CV LX's but was I amazed at the increased performance, not only in acceleration but pulling power in OD & top end speed. I thought that since most rev limiters on Fords kick in at 104 mph mine was cleared. I'd run to 110 mph with no problem. I found mine's set at 118 mph. I would get a chirp on fast starts before but now I lay a 3-4 car length of rubber. With normal driving, ( keeping your foot out of it) the engine is normal sounding but when you kick it you definately can hear the intake even over the dual glasspacks. The owner of my Ford dealership drove it & was amazed ( his remark was DAMN!!). He ordered a system for his '03 Lincoln Town Car & had it installed yesterday. He admittes his doesn't run as well as mine but I reminded him his is a completely different type of car. Bottom line is this: if you want a easy, quick way to increase performance, this is the way to go. It cost around $285.00 but well worth it. After the novelty wears off I'll check my mpg. My last trip to south central Kansas, (300+ miles) averaged at 70-75 mph was 28 mpg running 10% ethanol, 89 octane. I have a 3:27 rear in my Sport with factory duals. Like I said, try it, you'll like it.

FIPK is put out by K&N. It's a Fuel Injection Performance Kit. Go into the K&N web site & there is a picture with the performance specs
