Need help / advice...buying '99 Expy
Ok…I need your help guys/gals. I have wanted an Expedition for quite some time now. Since my husband has a big fat payment in his Mustang, I cant afford to buy a brand new one, so I’ll buy a used one. In my searching for 01, 02, 03, they’ve all got at least 60-70K miles unless you want to be in $25K or so price range, which then they are still out of warranty. I cant pay that much for something with that many miles on it.
I came across a very clean nice 99 Expedition….only 38K miles on it!!!! They want $14K for it, which even though it’s a bit older, the miles are right. (Which you can always get them a bit lower than that.) It says it is a one owner trader in….but it is so clean it had to be just that…and probably just a vacation vehicle. BUT – A friend of mine mentioned that their sister had problems with her new Expedition several years back…but he cant remember which year….somewhere around 97 – 99.
Is this a good deal, or too good to be true???

carebear,
I think that might be a little high, but I don't know all the options i.e. engine, leather...
I don't like buying from dealers, but that's just me. plus if something breaks, I can fix it.
