Which truck to choose 2008 diesel or gas?
Hello,
I am in the process of getting a new truck and I cannot decide which truck would be the best fit as of right now, so I was hoping to get a little help with this problem.
Here is a little bit about me to help yall help me with my decision. As of right now I have a 2005 4x4 f250 powerstroke with a 4" lift. I only put on about 15000 miles per year and I only tow my 30 ft. travel trailer 1 or twice per year. I cannot decide what would be better for me another diesel or v10 or v8.
Does any one have a 2008 V10 and if so how many miles to gallon are you getting? Same question for the V8? The same question for the diesel? The pricediesel just went up again today to over $4.00.
The new truck I am wanting to get will also have a lift on it so that will also effect my mpg, does anyone know how much it will effect it on gas engines?
Thanks for the help,

RE: Which truck to choose 2008 diesel or gas?
Hello,
I own a 2008 F350 4X2 Crew Cab with the V10. We pull a 29 Ft 5th wheel that weighs in loaded at around 11,000 lbs. We recently took a trip from Vanocouver, Washintong (near Portland, OR) to Dickinson, ND. We averaged about 7.5 MPG. That was traveling at 65 MPH the entire trip, over mountain passes and accross the prairies. Driving it 6 miles to work one way, it averages about 11.5 mpg.
I would base my decision on how many miles a year I drive. You have to drive a lot of miles for the diesel to pay for itself. We only put on about 10,000 a year, so couldn't justify the 6,500.00 tarif for the diesel.
By the way, the V10 outpulls and outhauls all competion diesels.
Good Luck.
