1986 Ford F-150 Shortbed 4x4 (302) driven daily on about a 40 mile round trip. I have driven this old truck back and forth to work for nearly 5 years and never missed a start. Never was much of a Ford fan but this truck made a believer out of me. Doesn't look like much but get's the job done. I work on a farm and that's where it does most of it's work moving equipment, pulling loading chutes and such. It's 20 years old so I won't list every flaw. Mainly, it leaks a quart of oil about every month, leaks a little power steering fluid, and is pretty rusty. Pretty minor stuff if your just looking for a work truck and not a beauty. I have done a few maintenence things to it such as, timing chain, thermostat, new ball joints, and new axle bearings. The heat also only works on defrost. Ac doesn't work. Cruise works fine. 4x4 works good and has granny low. Hubs lock in and out easily. Probably will need new tires if it get's drove alot. They will last me a while longer for what I use it for. I do have the tailgate but have it off for easier loading and unloading but it's kinda tore up and doesn't latch on one side. Passed inspection last year when I got it re-licensed and should again. Need to really sell this quick since I'm buying a cargo van and REALLY need the driveway space. I have no doubt this truck will keep on going.
