Thumbs up 3.73 Rear End Switch out..

Looking to switch out a 3.73 ratio for a 350 ratio. The 373 is more for the strip drag racing. The 373 has only been used twice going down a high at 60 to 65 MPH GREAT SHAPE. From Lincoln Nebraska. stevenlmoore777@gmail.com

Default 350 gears

How did the 350 ratio work out? I built a 33 Ford Vicky with a SBF 5.0 and ran 325 gears which was all wrong because of the tires I was using. Changed it out to 411 gears and now at 70mph in turning 2200rpm...perfect. I have a se3t of 325 for a ford 9in. if any one is looking.

MikgrOss want size tires are you running? I'm running 4.11 gears and 245-45-17 that are 25.71 and AOD and am doing about 2100 at 65 mph. Maybe I need to go with a tailer tire. I ran about the same size tire with my other car with OD and ran 2200 rpm's and made 75 to 77 mph. That was with 3.27 gears. I loved the performance of the 3.27 gears ,but the car weighted only 2300 lbs. Not to sure how they would work with a heaver car. I ran 3.50 gears in my Mustang and found them to work well with a auto trans and a 351 W. Ran well on the street and good on the freeway.Didn't feel like I was reving the hell out it on road trips.Steve a AOD is the wat to go. You get the best of both worlds and you can run the 3.73 and still run the freeways.Roger

GTA,
I ran the numbers you gave 4.11 gear set 25.71 tire height AOD in high gear is .67 to 1 ratio and 2100 RPM's and it shows that your speed should have been 58.35 mph. My tire height is 29.05 (255/65R-16) and I'm doing just under 70mph at 2200rpm. Check your mph on your phone using a speed calculator app using gps. These apps are extremely accurate. I hope this helps.

I think your right. I took the car out with my gps and found the numbers to be very close to what you said. Roger
