4r100 problems
First and foremost I'm no mechanic but I'm mechanically inclined. I have an 02 f250 super duty 2wd and the truck went into limp mode without warning. So here's what happened we drove it and everything worked fine and parked it for 5 minutes then tried to go to the store, however the check engine light and overdrive light came on and truck won't shift gears and started misfiring. Ok figured it's a trans problem we threw a obd scanner and found 18 problems with shift solenoids so we replaced all speed sensors, the shift solenoid pack and looked all the wiring down and found one broken wire we crimped back together. The truck starts and idles perfectly but we can't shift without hesitation and misfiring the overdrive light still flashes along with check engine light on but we can't get it out of limp mode and it's throwing the same codes. The truck has never slipped a gear, nor hard shifted it literally ran perfect before this any help would be appreciated, also would like to note the shifter box shifts and engages through the gears without problem it's only when we try to move the truck when it hesitates literally can't even get to 5mph

The broken wire we found was for the ignition coil on front of motor block right under the valve cover on driver's side, there was another code for communications bus fault and for ignition key fault but ignition works fine other than you can pull key out with it running and I figutlre the bus fault was due to a broken ground however after we fixed the plug those codes did not reappear only for the shift solenoid, the solenoid is brand new and not a remanufactured one

Did anybody take a careful look at the Manual Lever Position Sw plug contacts, formally the neutral safety sw ?
Do you know if the windshield of your truck was leaking ?
If it was, first check all the fuses and replace any that may be open. A 20 Amp fuse
Then check carefully the CJB, Central Junction Box, for corrosion. All the trans problem get fed power from that CJB.
Suspect there maybe a corrosion problem there.
If the fuse was open, there has to be a reason. Let us know and we can go from there, thanks.

I have looked at all connections and wiring myself, although I'm not a mechanic I am an electrician and have done voltage tests on the connections with help of YouTube videos. I didn't notice any corrosion on any plug or connectors but I will double check and will check the fuses. I know the bus fault is suppose to be ground related and that's why I checked wiring first. Also back to the nuetral switch I was under the truck when another guy shifted the gears and it moves and engages through the gears and we also tried starting it in gear and it did not start except in park or nuetral. We are going to borrow the scammer to reset codes and will update you afterwards
