AOD transmission ID
I looking for info on how to decode a transmission model tag. I'm rebuilding an AOD, and found a tag on the extension housing but can't decipher what it means. It reads :
PKA EA1
116009 C21
E9AP EB
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I concerned becasue the 1984 model had serious defects so I don't want to put money inot a possibly bad tranny. Since I salvaged this transmission I don't have a matching VIN code or any vehicle facts that would match.

RE: AOD transmission ID
PKA...Transmission model
EA1...Service I.D. level
116009...Serial number
C21... Build date C/month..21/day (March 21st)
E9AP EB...Assy part number Prefix/suffix..
The unit would be out of an 89 full size..

RE: AOD transmission ID
When you say it's a full size does that mean the transmission is larger than the standard 30 3/4" overall length or are you saying it came out of a truck? I'm worried b/c I'm swapping this AOD into my 66 mustang in place of the original C4. Doesa full sizepose any problems for smaller applications?
