Default TPMS fault/wheel and tire switch help!

I have a 2008 f250 4x4 that came oe with LT265/70-17's and I recently bought a oe set of LT275/70-18"s wheels and tires off a 2014 SD. A friend purchased a new truck and swapped out for aftermarket rims and tires. The new wheels run great but my tire light and "TPMS system fault" read on dash display.

Are the "new" sensors not compatable with my truck? Must I swap my old sensors into the new wheels? Please help

The sensors in the new tires are compatible, they just need to be "LEARNED (programmed)" to the computer.

You can use TPMS Scan tool to check or program the sensor.

For what this may be worth,
A few years back at a factory training class , it was brought to service people's attention, Any modifications made to a vehicle by anyone that are different from the original certified vehicle, could result in the insurance company having the ability to walk out from under the policy coverage because the vehicle was altered from the original certified build, and that supposed including something like adding a simple thing like dual exhaust pipes It might pay to look into this before changing anything on your vehicle.
