01 VCP/Entertainment System Help - Please Advise
I recently purchased a used 2001 Windstar
The VCP is having issues and no one seems to know what to do.
There is currently a tape in the VCP that will not eject. The system doesn't seem to register that there is a tape in there as all it's showing is "pwr" in the left upper corner of the VCP console- which, according to the owner's manual, means that there is no tape in there. Which it LIES because I can see the tape. After some gentle, and not so gentle, trouble shooting I've come to the conclusion that I want to rip the darn thing out!!!
Anyone have any ideas as I'm lost at this point. The fuses seem fine and the unit is getting power. I did try an external DVD player (which runs through the VCP) to test but it was too hot, according to the owner's manual and operating temperatures of the console, and failed. I am planning to retest once it's a cooler temperature.
So frustrated! Any advice at all?!
I may just blow the darn thing up soon as frustrated as I've become!
I can't even use the VCP Eject lever to take out the whole unit no matter how I pull and juggle!!
