I also should have said what the IMRC is good for. It improves torque at low RPMs and horsepower at high RPMs. It is like a musical instrument. At low RPM or low frequency you need long tubes and at high rpm you need short tubes. That improves airflow over a large range.
Conventional intakes have only one length which represents a compromise. Our engines have two intake runners, long ones and short ones. The short ones are closed until the rpms go over a set point, then they open up and the fun begins. (As much as a Windstar can be fun, anyways).

Once fixed you should notice an improvement in particular at low rpms. It can shift and quietly pull away even at 1500rpm, barely touching the accelerator.
