2001 Windstar Power Door troubleshooting
Today, my passanger side power sliding dooron a 2001 Windstar Limitedstopped working. I hear something trying to click and make it happen, but it does not open. I beleive it unlocks the door, but the mechanism to make it move doesn't catch? Any thoughts or ideas on things I should try?
Thanks in advance

RE: 2001 Windstar Power Door troubleshooting
Try unlocking the door manually, then activate the electric door. You might have a broken lock actuator.
If it is something in the sliding door mechanism or electronics, they are a real bugger to diagnose. I had all the Ford training, tech assistance, and manuals, and they were still a pain to figure out. There are lots of problems with the contacts on the door and door jamb, if those are dirty or worn it will create all kinda problems.

I just replaced the actuator on the passenger side sliding door with no success. The door once locked does not unlock. Is there any other source of the problem. The locks work better when it is warm. One of the other boards mentioned something about cleaning a sensor or something like that. How does that work?
