Default 2003 Windstar SE High Beam Issue

Hi All

I just purchased a 2003 Windstar SE and i'm having issues with left-high-beam, that is not working. The passenger side works ok. Please note that both sides low beam work OK

* When the headlight is off, high beam works on both sides
*When the park-light is on, high beam works on both sides
*When the headlight is on, only passenger side high beam works.

What is the problem here?

If the vehicle has Daytime Running Lights there could be a problem in that system or if no DTRL system, then there is a problem with the headlight module.

N

No, it does not have DTRL system. Is headlight module same as the multifunction switch?

I've replaced the bulb, it did not help. High beam work when all lights are off and works when parking lights are on.

I was actually wrong; when the lights are off, if i pull the lever for high beam, low-high beam comes on together. I thought only high beam could turn on without the low beam

so the problem is the left high beam does work...

I believe for what is considered "normal" operation the info is passed through a lighting module which in this case appears not to be working as designed.

Ok, i tested the wires and fuses this morning. They all look OK. Here is what i found:

When I push the control lever (the one control signals, high beam etc), both low beam works, but no high beam on left

When I pull the control lever like i'm flashing, no low and high beams on the left side (right side works fine). Then i played with the headlight socket low beam comes on, but still no high beam

It looks like the socket does not function as it should. What do you all think?
