BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST TO FLOOR

BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST TO FLOOR
I have a 99' windstar and my problem is that the brake pedal is only about 1" from the floor when brakes are applied. I am thinking that this is simply that the front pads need replacing but they are not singing from the wear sensors yet. The brakes work fine by the way, just too much pedal travel.

Hello and good day:
May I ask a few Question???
1. Does your Brake Pedal feel a little Sloppy?? (when pushing it down...it pushes really fast or easy)
2. When was the last time you had your Brakes Check by a trusted Brake shop??
3. Have you noticed any leaks on the ground around the tires???
4. Have you check your Brake Fluid....in your Reservoir??
5. Do you have any Scarping, or squealing noise coming from the wheels??
I would first check the Brake Fluid...Then Pull each wheel off...and check to see if there any signs of leaking..
Your Brake Pedal operates under Hydraulics pressure...and should be very thight...
Please advise further...and good luck.

RE: BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST TO FLOOR
Good news. I replaced the front pads which were only half gone by the way, and that brought the pedal back up. I guess because this uses dual piston calipers that it acts like that. Anyway, Thanks everyone.
