door ajar sensors/alarm
I have a 1996 Windstar that I just use for running around town I don't want to spend alot (anything!) on fixing it. The door ajar light is on and the constant "ding...ding...ding..." alarm is on occasionally. I'm not quite sure what to do. I had the same problem with the vehicle about 8 years ago..tokk it to a Ford garage and they had to replace the sensor on the sliding door. Any ideas on how to fix or disable the sensor(s)?

Hello and good day:
LOL......I know this will be a stupid question...but did you check to see if the Door Really is Ajar???...If Door Sensor is Bad this will cause these symptoms ....to disable the sensor you can take the door sensor out, and disconnect the connectors.
Please keep us advised....6 BTW.. if you would like help in disabling the switch let me know...

Look for previous posts on this subject.
I think you can spray the door locks with WD-40 or something because the sensors are located there and get hung up sometimes.
Isprayed all the locks and cleaned the sensor contacts on the sliding door and the bells stopped.
'96 Windstar too.
