rear axle and subframe corrosion

rear axle and subframe corrosion
Guys:
I had my Ford dealer check my rear axle and the sub frame according to safety recalls. They put braces on the rear axle and braces on the sub frame. In both cases the fixes look like slip-over, clamp-down and cross-your-fingers jobs.
I also found a picture of a Windstar where the rear axle was replaced with a new one and the sub frame was patched up like mine.
I am not confident about the patch up jobs on my van. After all, the rear axle corrodes from the inside out. The sub frame seems to have gained some material at critical spots, but one nut is seated in a crooked way so it pushes against the clamp at one small point only.
Could you share your experience with this issue, in particular if you received a new part rather than a patch up job. What did it take to get the new part?
Thanks
