Default Windstar won't run

My '98 Windstar 3.0Lquit running on the way home from work. Had it towed. I listened for the sound of the fuel pump when I turned the key on and heard nothing.I was ready to replace the fuel pump but thought I ought to troubleshoot it a little further. Checked the fuses and found the PCM 30 amp mini fuse blown in the engine compartment fuse box. Replaced the fuse and started the engine. Took it for a spin to see if it would blow again. The further I drove the worse it ran, so I nursed it back home. Checked the fuses and they're all good. Is the fuel pump dying oris the OBD sending some bad info to the engine?? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Windstar won't run

Figured it out all by myself! The engine wiring harness was chaffed where it crosses from the front bank to the rear bank(behind the alternator) and was barely shorted to ground which caused the fuse to blow initially. Noticed the battery was kinda low when I tried to start the engine. I saw just the slightest waft of smoke coming from that area. The wire that was actually chaffed was the power supply for the PCM coming from the engine compartment fuse panel. It was completely cut but still touching the other half which gave the appearance (troubleshooting wise) that everything was okay. Soldered the wire back together, heat shrinkedand taped the crap out of it. Ole Blue fired right up!
