Wire Harness Help
I have a 2002 Windstar and the wire harness that connects to the ABS module which is under the chassis on the driver side is burned. Ford says that part is no longer available.
I think this wire harness goes to the PCM and other places.
What is the best approach to this. Thanks in advance.

This is one thing you could consider.
Depending how many wires and how badly they are burned,
Get some shrink connectors of various sizes and replace each burned wire, one at a time, until all affected wires have been replaced you would need to purchase some primary wire to do this. It will be time consuming , but you won't need a wiring diagram to replace the burned sections.`If you cannot obtain a harness already assembled, would think this is one way to get it done . If you don't have the necessary tools to do this , you would need a pair of wire cutters, a crimping tool, and a small torch to seal the shrink connectors from moisture
Even if you locate a complete harness from a salvage yard , there will be a lot of work involved and opportunity for incorrect connections will always exist..
After all is done and everything works as it is supposed to you could seal the spliced areas with electrical tape into a neat bundle.
Do you have any idea as to what caused this?

Thanks for the reply.
It is really really burned. At least the connector on the ABS Controller is fried. I know what caused this. I purchased the van used not long ago.
I replaced the cruise control cut out pressure switch on the master cylinder, when I got the van, I didn't realize that brake fluid would migrate all the way down that cable to the ABS control connector. I should have cleaned it. That is where the fire started, at the ABS controller connector, the car was not running for about 4 hours when this happened.
I think I might try to find a harness that is a 'close match' and then modify it to match. Ford Parts told me it was #1F2Z-14290-CA. I see some on ebay that just say 2002 Windstar, I'm not sure if that is the right one.
What I would like is to know the name of this harness, I think it connects to the PCM. I just need some help to make sure I get the right cable.
A Question: what if I disconnect this harness from the PCM, will the engine run ? Of course I would not have ABS, but that would give me time to get the harness made and installed.
